Explains Milkmaid and gives you the Mac app. A website cannot inspect your filesystem—and this one does not pretend it can.
A free Mac tool from The Ideas Shed
Milkmaid scans your Mac locally, shows you where the space went, and explains what deserves a look. She was built for Marcus—founder of The Ideas Shed—because his MacBook Air kept filling up while he built software.
Free. No login. Read-only. Early v0.1 for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Dogfooded on Marcus’s own MacBook Air.

Explains Milkmaid and gives you the Mac app. A website cannot inspect your filesystem—and this one does not pretend it can.
The local Mac app
Scans names and sizes on your Mac, locally. Nothing is uploaded. v0.1 can explain and reveal items in Finder; it cannot delete or move them.
Get the real Milkmaid
Milkmaid is a free, no-login, early v0.1 Mac tool. It runs locally, scans read-only, never deletes files and does not upload your filesystem analysis.
Built and dogfooded by The Ideas Shed on Marcus’s MacBook Air while he was building software and repeatedly running out of space.
